Hi, I’m Kat! I grew up in Oakland, CA, and I’m proudly of Mexican and Salvadorian background. I haven’t had the chance to visit either country yet, but I’m definitely looking forward to going someday and connecting with my roots.
Right now, I’m in my fifth term at Carrington College, getting closer to finishing the Veterinary Technician program. I always knew I wanted to work with animals, but I wasn’t sure exactly how until I came across the vet tech path. After doing some research, I realized it was exactly what I was looking for.
One of the things I’m most passionate about in veterinary medicine is the healing process. There’s something incredibly rewarding about helping figure out what’s going on with a sick pet and then being part of the team that helps them recover. It’s the best feeling!
At home, I have a fun little zoo of my own—three dogs (Sakura, Bella, and Oso), one cat (Lola), and a leopard gecko named Garaa. When I’m not working or studying, I love to box, read, and play soccer. I’ve been thinking about picking up swimming too, so stay tuned!
