Early Detection. Advanced Treatment. Led by One of the Nation’s Top Experts.

Do not wait for symptoms to appear.

Chagas disease progresses in stages. The earlier it is identified:<ul><li>The more treatment options are available</li><li>The better heart damage can be managed</li><li>The higher the chance of improving quality of life</li></ul>Waiting can mean irreversible cardiac damage.

If your dog may have been exposed to kissing bugs, do not wait. Chagas disease can silently damage the heart before symptoms appear. Early diagnosis can make the difference.

Chagas disease is often silent early on, but warning signs may include:<ul><li>Lethargy or decreased activity</li><li>Fainting or collapse</li><li>Irregular heartbeat</li><li>Difficulty breathing</li><li>Unexplained weight loss</li></ul>If your dog spends time outdoors, lives in Central Texas, or has been exposed to insects, they may be at risk even without symptoms.

If your dog may be at risk, schedule an evaluation today and get answers from one of the leading experts in the field.

<h2 dir="auto">Firework Safety for Pets on Memorial Day</h2>Memorial Day marks the start of summer. For many families, that includes barbecues, gatherings, and fireworks. For pets, it often means something very different.Loud, unpredictable noises can trigger fear, anxiety, and even dangerous behavior. Each year, veterinary clinics see an increase in lost pets, injuries, and stress-related issues tied directly to fireworks.Preparation changes that outcome. With a few intentional steps, you can make Memorial Day safer and far less stressful for your pet.<h2 dir="auto">Why Fireworks Affect Pets So Strongly</h2>Fireworks are not just loud. They are sudden, irregular, and impossible for pets to anticipate. Dogs and cats rely heavily on sound awareness, so these bursts can feel overwhelming and threatening. Many pets respond by trying to escape. Others hide, tremble, pace, or refuse to eat. In more severe cases, pets can injure themselves attempting to get away from the noise. This is not bad behavior. It is a fear response. The goal is not to correct it, but to manage the environment so your pet feels more secure.<h2 dir="auto">How to Prepare Your Pet Before Fireworks Start</h2>The most effective time to act is before the first firework goes off. Start by bringing pets indoors early, even if they typically spend time outside. A fenced yard is not enough when a frightened pet is looking for a way out.Create a quiet, enclosed space inside your home. This could be a bedroom, a crate your pet already associates with comfort, or a low-traffic area where noise is less intense. Add familiar items like bedding, toys, or a piece of your clothing. These small details help signal safety. Background noise also helps. A television, fan, or calming music can soften the sharp contrast of fireworks and reduce how startling each sound feels. If your pet has shown anxiety in the past, this is the time to talk with your veterinarian. There may be safe options, including behavioral strategies or medications, that can make a meaningful difference.<h2 dir="auto">During Fireworks: What Matters Most</h2>Once fireworks begin, your focus shifts to keeping your pet contained and supported.Keep doors and windows closed, and double check that screens and gates are secure. Even pets that have never tried to escape may react differently under stress.Stay calm in your own behavior. Pets take cues from their environment, and a steady presence can help reduce escalation. You do not need to force comfort, but being nearby and predictable matters.Avoid bringing pets to firework displays. What feels like a fun outing for people can quickly become overwhelming and unsafe for animals.<h2 dir="auto">Preventing the Most Common Risk: Lost Pets</h2>One of the biggest risks during Memorial Day is pets getting loose.Microchipping is one of the most reliable safeguards, but it only works if your contact information is current. ID tags should also be clearly readable and attached to a secure collar. If your pet does get out, having accurate identification dramatically increases the chance of a safe return.<h2 dir="auto">Small Details That Make a Big Difference</h2>Some of the most effective steps are simple. Exercise your dog earlier in the day so they are more relaxed by evening. Feed meals on a normal schedule to maintain routine. Close curtains or blinds to reduce visual stimulation from flashes of light. These are not complicated changes, but together they create a more stable environment when it matters.<h2 dir="auto">When to Involve Your Veterinarian</h2>If your pet experiences severe anxiety, including nonstop pacing, vocalizing, or attempts to escape, it is worth having a conversation with your veterinarian before the holiday. There are safe, evidence-based approaches that can help manage fear responses. Waiting until the moment fireworks begin often limits your options.

Protect your pet this Memorial Day with firework safety tips from veterinarians. Learn how to reduce anxiety, prevent escapes, and keep pets safe during celebrations.

Saying goodbye is the hardest part of loving a pet. When that time comes, you deserve clarity, comfort, and the space to make decisions with peace of mind.

End-of-Life Support

Skin issues are one of the most common reasons pets end up at the vet, and they're also some of the most frustrating. Allergies, infections, or even food sensitivities can all cause your pet discomfort.

Dermatology & Allergy Care

A sudden limp. A skipped meal. A look that says something's off. When your pet isn't feeling right, same-day answers make all the difference.

Urgent Care

Permanent ID for Peace of Mind. A collar can come off. A tag can get lost. But a microchip is a permanent, tamper-proof way to make sure your pet always has a way home. At (), we offer safe and simple microchip implantation, so your pet stays connected to you, no matter what.

Pet Microchipping

Discover hidden dental issues before they cause pain with pet dental radiology at (). Our veterinary dental X-rays reveal infections, bone loss, and tooth damage beneath the gum line, ensuring safer, more effective treatment. Non-invasive and included in every comprehensive dental cleaning, dental radiographs for pets help protect your pet's health, comfort, and smile for years to come.

Dental Radiology

Spaying or neutering your pet is one of the most important decisions you can make for their long-term health. It helps prevent certain cancers and infections, curbs unwanted behaviors, and reduces the number of orphaned pets in shelters.

Spay And Neuter

Your pet can't tell you when something's wrong. That's why regular wellness exams are so important. These visits give us the chance to catch health issues early, before they become painful or costly.

Wellness Exams

Bad breath isn't just annoying - it's often a sign of deeper health issues. Dental disease in pets can lead to oral pain, local or systemic infection, tooth loss, and even heart, liver, or kidney complications.

Dental Care

Fleas, ticks, and intestinal worms are not just a nuisance, they are dangerous. These tiny pests can cause serious health issues like Lyme disease, heartworm disease, and tapeworms.

Parasite Prevention

Vaccines are one of the most important tools we have to protect pets from serious, often deadly diseases. Whether you have a rambunctious or a relaxed pet, vaccinations help your pet build strong immunity and avoid preventable illness.

Vaccinations

Comprehensive surgical services, from routine procedures to complex operations, all are performed with expert care.

Pet Surgeries

When your pet isn't acting like themselves, diagnostic testing helps us find the reason. From bloodwork, urine testing, and fecal exams to x-rays, these tests give us a window into what's happening inside, so we can take action before things get worse.

Diagnostic Testing

When pets get sick or injured, you want answers fast. Advanced imaging gives us a deeper look, without invasive procedures.
